Continue taking active steps towards critical policing reform

Establish a federal mechanism to ensure comprehensive and coordinated compliance with international human rights instruments at the federal, state and local levels

Continue to ensure the full range of human rights of both urban and rural residents

Continue effective dialogue with the opposition and all concerned parties to the conflict

Continue to strengthen the capacity of the Ethiopian Commission on Human Rights, which is responsible for all alleged human rights violations

Increase women’s representation in political life and in senior positions in the public administration, as well as to prevent and combat women’s stereotyping and discrimination, including sexist rhetoric

Intensify preparation of the national action plan based on Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security

Take measures to ensure that cases of domestic and sexual violence against women are reported, recorded and thoroughly investigated, and that perpetrators are prosecuted and duly punished

Consider measures on increasing the representation of women in the country’s political life

Fully implement the empowering women in the family and society action plan 2021–2030 with a view towards decreasing the pay gap between women and men

Share its national experience in supporting and strengthening the institution of the family as the natural and fundamental unit of society

Ensure an effective and qualitative education in minority languages at all levels of education, including by providing teachers able to teach subjects in minority languages

Ensure that children belonging to national minorities have access to education in their mother tongue

Strengthen its national legislation with respect to the prevention of torture and ill-treatment and the elimination of the practice of whipping and caning

Establish a formal procedure throughout the country to promptly identify victims of trafficking and refer them to appropriate services for protection

Take measures to fully guarantee the right to freedom of religion and belief

Continue the implementation of measures aimed at strengthening inter-ethnic and interreligious interaction in the country

Guarantee freedom of religion or belief to all, stemming racial and religious intolerance, including against the Christian community

Enact legislation guaranteeing the right of access to information and ensure its full implementation

Build upon its efforts to ensure the full enjoyment of the freedom of opinion and expression by repealing the Sedition Act and bringing the Printing Presses and Publication Act, the Official Secrets Act and the Anti-Fake News Act into line with international human rights law
