Accede to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, as a remaining part of the core international human rights treaties

Strengthen media pluralism and the safety of journalists and human rights defenders by amending the respective legislation to comply with international democratic standards

Publish the annual reports of the national preventive mechanism, as required under the national preventive mechanism guidelines, in order to improve transparency of the national preventive mechanism’s work

Continue efforts to promote and protect the rights of expatriate workers

Further increase protection of children against any form of violence and abuse and enshrine the right to education for all children in the Basic Law

Stop harassing, intimidating and criminalizing all individuals and organizations that are critical of the Government

Unconditionally and immediately release all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, end the criminal proceedings against them and provide them with full rehabilitation

Ensure that the death penalty remains abolished for all crimes as codified in the 2015 Criminal Code, and remove reference to the death penalty from the Constitution

Implement the recommendations of the European Union Election Observation Mission of 2017, in particular on access to voting rights for convicted detainees or hospitalized citizens

Abolish the death penalty to fulfil the international obligations of Liberia as a party to the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty

Establish a national preventive mechanism according to the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and improve the living conditions of prisoners in Liberia
