Recognize the role of health and essential workers in defending human rights during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide a safe and enabling environment where they can conduct their work free from threats and intimidation

Continue to implement employment strategies designed to improve the rate of youth employment, including through international capacity-building cooperation in the field of vocational training

Advance human rights-based training programmes for public service and military officers and the development of community policing initiatives with a view to eradicating the practice of torture and other forms of ill-treatment

Provide comprehensive protection of human rights to foreign workers regardless of their category under national legislation and encourage cooperation with countries of origin with a human rights-based approach

Continue to strengthen tolerance of and coexistence in the religious and cultural diversity of the people and facilitate space for expression in its education system and civil life in general

Ratify the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

Ensure that the issue of asylum seekers and refugees are addressed in line with international human rights and humanitarian law and Australia’s other commitments on this issue in other forums, including within the Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime

Take further measures in promoting multiculturalism, including by tackling racism, intolerance, xenophobia, and Islamophobia, and addressing racism experienced by people of Asian background during the COVID-19 pandemic

Continue efforts to provide health care, including programmes to educate the public and to address the risks of diabetes and communicable diseases

Continue to be actively involved in international technical assistance cooperation in improving human rights protection in the areas of climate change and environmentally sound waste management and in combating human trafficking, slavery and other human rights abuses

Further strengthen the intergovernmental committee based on the Human Rights Committee Act 2015 with a view to establish national human rights institutions compliant with the Paris Principles in supporting the implementation of the core human rights treaties

Strengthen the effective implementation of programmes to eliminate acute malnutrition and ensure food security for all, particularly women and children

Continue to prioritize areas of development and pursue technical assistance and capacity-building cooperation to strengthen its efforts in improving living conditions for all people

Enable wider access to agricultural productive resources, technologies and markets to empower smallholder farmers across the country, including through international cooperation with development partners
