With regard to indigenous peoples issues, Costa Rica highlighted the commitment of the Presidency to continue with the processes of dialogue at the highest level, mainly with regard to conflicts relating to land tenure and the security of its inhabitants, as well as other important issues, such as education, health, housing and social security of the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica. The delegation also referred to the willingness of the new administration to elaborate a comprehensive strategy to address the situation of the territorial rights of the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica.
