A/HRC/57/6 21. Chile reaffirmed its commitment to multilateralism, as its history had led it to witness first-hand the importance of international solidarity, accountability and human rights scrutiny mechanisms. The delegation noted that citizens were empowered to hold the State accountable thanks to the robust institutional framework for transparency and access to information that had been built, thereby fighting corruption within the State apparatus. 22. The delegation emphasized the country’s efforts to address the main areas on which the recommendations made during the third cycle of the universal periodic review had focused. It highlighted that Chile maintained its open invitation to the special procedures of the Human Rights Council. 23.
