A/HRC/57/6 21. Chile reaffirmed its commitment to multilateralism, as its history had led it to witness first-hand the importance of international solidarity, accountability and human rights scrutiny mechanisms. The delegation noted that citizens were empowered to hold the State accountable thanks to the robust institutional framework for transparency and access to information that had been built, thereby fighting corruption within the State apparatus. 22. The delegation emphasized the country’s efforts to address the main areas on which the recommendations made during the third cycle of the universal periodic review had focused. It highlighted that Chile maintained its open invitation to the special procedures of the Human Rights Council. 23. The delegation concluded by stating that the universal periodic review was an exercise in transparency and accountability to civil society, which would continue to be vigilant in demanding greater respect for the dignity and integrity of all persons. II. Conclusions and/or recommendations 24. The following recommendations will be examined by Chile, which will provide responses in due time, but no later than the fifty-seventh session of the Human Rights Council: 24.1 Consider ratifying the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (Montenegro); 24.2 Ratify the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (France) (Niger) (Spain) (Uruguay); 24.3 Ratify the International Labour Organization Migration for Employment Convention (Revised), 1949 (No. 97) (Kyrgyzstan); 24.4 Withdraw all reservations and declarations to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and its Optional Protocol (Kyrgyzstan); 24.5 Consider ratifying the Inter-American Convention against Racism, Racial Discrimination and Related Forms of Intolerance (Djibouti); 24.6 Pursue efforts to ratify the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Algeria); 24.7 Continue efforts to implement the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance (France); 24.8 Ratify the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, known as the Istanbul Convention (France); 24.9 Continue the implementation of the second National Human Rights Plan (Türkiye); 24.10 Enhance the effective implementation of the National Human Rights Plan with the participation of civil society and national human rights institutions (Kazakhstan); 24.11 Ensure the effective implementation of the National Human Rights Plan (2022–2025) through the allocation of sufficient resources (Bhutan); 24.12 Allocate sufficient financial and human resources for the implementation of the second National Human Rights Plan (2022–2025) (Botswana); GE.24-09693 5
